Caring For Your Full-Arch Implants

You have a brand new full-arch restoration anchored on implants, with a fixed temporary bridge likely in place while everything heals. The implants need to fuse to your bone over the coming months. The next two weeks of careful care protect that investment and set up a result that can last for decades.

The First Few Days

  • Oozing and swelling are expected with a procedure this size. Swelling often peaks on day 2 to 3.
  • Rest with your head elevated, even while sleeping, the first few nights.
  • Do not lift your lip to inspect or pull on the site. Let it heal.

Protect The Implants

These implants are integrating under your new bridge. For the first weeks:

  • No smoking. This is critical for full-arch success.
  • Soft diet only. Do not test the bite with hard or chewy foods.
  • No straws or vigorous rinsing the first few days.

Comfort

  • Ice 20 on, 20 off across both cheeks the first day or two.
  • Stay ahead of pain with medication on schedule. Take all medications, including antibiotics, exactly as prescribed.

Eating & Cleaning

  • Soft foods only while healing. Eggs, yogurt, soups, smoothies, well-cooked soft items.
  • Clean as directed, often with a special brush or water flosser we show you.
  • Keep every follow-up. These visits confirm the implants are fusing.
