Comfort & Sedation

You can relax here.

Nervous at the dentist? So are most people. We offer three levels of sedation — and private Friday & Saturday appointments just for sedation visits. No judgment, ever.

Three levels of calm

Your comfort, your choice.

Nitrous Oxide
"Laughing gas"

Best for: mild nerves, kids, short visits

You feel: warm, floaty, calm — still awake

Wears off: in minutes

Afterwards: drive yourself home

Oral Sedation
One pill before your visit

Best for: moderate anxiety, longer visits

You feel: deeply relaxed and drowsy

You remember: very little

Afterwards: a loved one drives you home

IV Sedation
The deepest level of calm

Best for: strong anxiety, surgery, big visits

You feel: asleep-like, fully monitored

You remember: essentially nothing

Afterwards: go home and rest

A calm, private treatment room at Love Dental in Avondale
Safety first, always

Monitored the whole time.

We review your health history first, choose the right level with you, and monitor your vitals throughout. Sedation is a routine part of our week.

And on Fridays & Saturdays? A private office, no waiting room — just you.

Is sedation right for you?

Sedation helps when…

Fear kept you away

Years away, bad past experiences, full-on phobia — you're exactly who this is for.

Your body fights it

Strong gag reflex, hard to get numb, can't sit long — sedation quiets all of it.

You want it done in one visit

Crowns, extractions, implants — get years of work done comfortably in one appointment.

Good to know

Sedation questions

With nitrous and oral sedation you remain awake but deeply relaxed. With IV sedation you drift into a sleepy twilight state — you can respond if spoken to, but most patients remember nothing afterwards.

Yes — when properly planned and monitored, sedation dentistry has an excellent safety record. We review your health history and medications beforehand, choose the appropriate level, and monitor you continuously throughout.

That conversation is exactly what your consultation is for. As a rule of thumb: nitrous for mild nerves and short visits, oral sedation for moderate anxiety, and IV sedation for severe anxiety, surgery, or big visits. We will recommend honestly — never more than you need.

Sometimes — it depends on your plan and the procedure. We verify your benefits for free and give you a written estimate before anything is scheduled, so there are never surprises.

Being nervous is normal. Come anyway.

Just say "I'm nervous" when you book. That's it — we'll handle the rest, at your pace, with zero judgment.
