IV sedation gives you the deepest relaxation we offer, and it stays in your system for hours after you feel awake. Today is a rest day, no exceptions.

For The Rest Of Today

A responsible adult must stay with you for the rest of the day.
No driving or operating machinery for 24 hours, even if you feel completely fine.
No alcohol today. It multiplies the sedative effect.
No important decisions, documents, or online purchases until tomorrow. You will thank us.

Your IV Site

Keep the bandage on for an hour or two after you get home.
A small bruise or tenderness at the site is normal and fades in a few days.
A cool compress for a few minutes at a time eases soreness.

Eating & Drinking

Start with water or clear liquids, then light, soft foods as you feel ready.
Skip heavy, greasy, or spicy meals until tomorrow.
Stay hydrated. Small, frequent sips beat big gulps.

What's Normal

Sleepiness in waves for the rest of the day. Nap freely.
Little or no memory of the appointment. That is expected.
Mild dizziness or wobbliness. Get up slowly and use handrails.

Call Us Right Away If

You are very difficult to wake or unusually unresponsive.
Trouble breathing — call 911 first.
The IV site shows spreading redness, warmth, or red streaks.
Vomiting that will not stop or you cannot keep liquids down.

IV sedation lets us do more in one comfortable visit, and a quiet evening is how you hold up your end.

Rest today, feel normal tomorrow. Most patients wake up feeling completely themselves.
Take or resume medications only as directed by Dr. Abedini at your visit.
Follow your procedure care sheet too. Sedation was on top of whatever we did today.
