Caring For Your Sinus Lift

To place an implant in your upper jaw, we added bone beneath your sinus and gave it room to grow. This graft needs a calm, undisturbed space. The most important rule after a sinus lift is simple: keep pressure away from your sinus while it heals.

Protect Your Sinus

For 2 weeks, anything that raises sinus pressure can disturb the graft. So:

  • Do not blow your nose. Wipe gently instead.
  • Sneeze with your mouth open to release pressure.
  • No straws, no smoking, and avoid bending over or heavy lifting.
  • Do not fly or scuba dive until we clear you.

What Is Normal

  • Mild swelling and bruising on the cheek, peaking around day 2 to 3.
  • A little blood-tinged fluid from the nose on the treated side can happen.
  • Slight congestion on that side is common.

Comfort

  • Ice 20 on, 20 off on the cheek the first day.
  • Stay ahead of pain with medication on schedule.
  • Take your antibiotic and any decongestant exactly as prescribed.

Eating & Activity

  • Soft, cool foods for the first few days.
  • Sleep with your head elevated the first several nights.
  • Ease back into activity slowly. Save workouts until we say you are clear.

How To Give Your Graft The Best Chance

A sinus graft matures over months. Keep pressure off it early and keep it clean, and your body builds the solid bone your implant needs.

Respect the healing window and your graft sets up a strong, lasting implant!
